First: this is a real fast paced game. You very quickly feel "out-of-control" and trying to keep your head cool is a very hard thing to achieve. Not unlike real war I guess!
Second: it is indeed a great game. It looks spectacular and the one thing you can't help but notice is how well polished it is. Yet another fine product from the fine folks at Relic.
A buying advice: get the regular edition, not the special edition: I got the special edition and the only difference is a small printed "real map" of D-Day, 10 little cards, a slim metalic box, and an extra CD with mostly text info and very little in the ways of content! I feel like I've been cheated.

Death to Spies: Moment of Truth Review

Moment of Truth is not only graphically superior but the most important improvement would be the level design. Each mission in Moment of Truth is very well designed. It's obvious that a lot of planning went into the design of these levels. In the original Death to Spies, the level design was extremely frustrating even on the easiest difficulty. In Moment of Truth, the easy difficulty is very enjoyable. This time you can shoot enemies in the head and still be able to change into their clothing. And the uniforms you change into can easily get you into the areas that you need to get to without alarms going off every few seconds like in the original Death to Spies. The big difference in Moment of Truth is that as soon as you change into a uniform that should get you through an area all the guards alarm level changes from red to green so they don't bother you as long as you are in that uniform. With the original Death to Spies, it didn't matter what uniform you changed into. Most of the guards still stayed on red alert at all times. This is why the original Death to Spies was so frustrating. It really did NOT have an easy (enjoyable) difficulty but Moment of Truth does.
In Moment of Truth, there is an opportunity near the beginning of each level where you can obtain the correct uniform needed to proceed. There are also some very nice tips that are presented on the screen every now and then that will help you move along in each level. I can't stress enough how well these levels were thought out and designed. This makes for a much more enjoyable experience than the original Death to Spies.
Graphically, Moment of Truth is a lot better than the original game. There are more video settings this time around that really add to the atmosphere of the game. You will not be disappointed in the graphics with Moment of Truth. There are pictures of Hitler, swastikas, Germans speaking German, and the whole game just has a very authentic WWII Nazi Germany feel to it. Another good thing about the game is that the US retail version works very well with XP SP2 even though the requirements state SP3 and it does not require the dvd to be in the drive when playing. I would highly recommend picking up Moment of Truth if you liked the original Death to Spies but were frustrated over the difficulty and level design.

(More customer reviews)Company of Heroes Game of the Year is a great game. However, I didn't realize that the first game would be trying to get it to recognize the DVD. After installation I kept getting a disk validation error. If I happened to be online when I started the game, it would try to log on and update and said I needed a 115MB patch. This is not the correct patch! I contacted THQ and got back an Email about turning off anti-virus software and any virtual drives. My anti-virus was off and I don't use virtual drives, so that didn't help, however they were nice and trying to be helpful. Finally, after endless searching and investigating, I found out how to solve the issue on my own. If you happen to end up with the same issue, I think I can save you a lot of grief with the following:
Locate and install the patch en_2101_2102_patch.exe manually (This must be done first. If you just try to install the second patch it will give you an unrecognized version error and exit.)
Locate and install the second patch EN_2102_2103_patch.exe manually.
After this I was finally able to get the game to recognize the disk and run. After that it was smooth sailing. Good luck.

Warbirds of WWII Review

With the exception of the Corsair, whose engine sounds like a Cessena 182, the rest of the downloads are just what you expected. The cockpits are fantastic, with plenty of room to mouse around and throw switches, knobs, and radio channels. The P-47, and the Mosquito sound fantastic, and are exacatly what you would expect to hear from a recip. The P-38 is in another category all to itself. The turbochargers whistle right up, and the controls are fantastic. Some of the normal key selections are not the same as what is printed in the manual, but so what. Play around and find them. The Shift + E still opens the canopies, with the exception again of the Corsair. It is a birdcage canopy, and the pilot moves forward as if it were opening, but it does not. Again so what, things I can live with. A litle pricey for 29.95, but well worth it. I ordered on the 10 th of Dec, and recieved it yesterday on the 15th, with the weekend in the middle. Not bad for the holidays. *NOTE* Sorry for you Mac users with attitude, you are just going to miss some of the best add ons around. I downloaded to one tower pc with XP and MS/FS 2004 and another tower pc with Vista and MS/FS X, works great, and downloaded fast. I want some more planes please! Four stars out of five.
