(More customer reviews)I'd typically gush over anything produced by Sega, but this game was merely published by Sega instead. At first, I thought: "Sweet! Another Sega racing port!!" I thought wrong. This actually came out on the PSX as well as the Saturn.
I'll keep this review short. The controls are twitchy and it is just downright unplayable. Mabey my hardware is too powerful to run it properly, but the game runs way to fast for its own good. Prepare to crash often. The music score is a pathetic attempt at techno, and makes Daytona and Sega Touring Car sound like Solid Gold. The graphics are just as average as well. There are a variety of options in terms of resoltions and such, but the game is so alienating that none of it will even matter.
If only Formula Karts would run at a proper speed, it might just be a fun diversion. But until I figure out how to make it run properly, I can't recommend it. Pick up Daytona CCE or Sega Touring Car istead. Look online for the stcc.exe graphics patch. You'll be glad you did!!
